Wow. That was fast and you got a great deal on the kit. I hope she likes it! It sure is cuter than the K200D! = )

Marc, with the latest or last version of firmware for the K10D, you can change the ISO by pressing the OK button and moving the rear wheel.
I was unclear. I know the K10D does that, but I have a K200D. It's the only control the K10D has that I envy. Of course I wouldn't turn down the bigger viewfinder either. But really, coming from the DS (which has the same viewfinder as the K10D), it just isn't *that* different.

I have never handled the K200D but with the emergence of the K-M, the K200D is becoming the forgotten middle child of the family. I come across numerous K200D listing on Ebay, but I just don't understand the advantage of the K200D over the K10D.
In most respects, the K200D is the lower-tier camera, no doubt about that. But it does does have some advantages to people who value these particular things: smaller size, AA batteries, fewer problems with high ISO noise, quieter shutter, and the fact that it is still a supported model and is more likely to get firmware updates. I personally valued all of those things more than advantages the K10D offers, but I recognize a lot of people really love that second wheel and the buttons to make it easier to alter parameters I essentially never alter.

Paolo,

I'm sure your sister will be happy with her gift, and you've done really well with the K-M. Not everyone needs a Ferrari to drive, and if she's happy to experiment later I'm sure the K-M will offer that.

Sadly, as Leeac points out, the K200D is becoming the forgotten sibling. But for everyone elses reference, if you switch the K200D to Sensitivity mode (Sv), the e-dial allows you to alter ISO - the value is displayed in the viewfinder.

Not having handled a K10D, I can't comment on advantages/disadvantages, but the K200D does have newer firmware and as Marc points out, it will be supported for a bit longer.

Cheers
