There are plans for a K-70MKII:
The only difference is aperture control:
Because the solenoid still is stuck at rare moments, Ricoh discontinued the KP (which actually is the better DSLR but folk seems to prefer the K-70)
The momentary problem is shortness of parts (
see K3III difficulties)
so Ricoh chose a new direction, i.e.:
HYBRID APERTURE CONTROL:
because the solenoid in rare situations was able to make problems,
Ricoh chose to go a complete new way:

a) aperture release, i.e "aperture into action": stepper-motor
b) aperture sleeping-modus: solenoid
This means the strong parts of both systems are brought together:
- When we need
POWER
we have the
NEW Motor, a true 12-cylinder of course.
- But for a
Soft Release
we now have the solenoid going the opposite way, i.e.:
