Will the camera police come for me if I use the K3 III outside of its "stated mission" ?
If you tape over the logo they'll never know … tell 'em it's a pre-production prototype

Overhead shot in portrait mode*?

*Yes, I do this because I don't have a shift lens and sometimes a nice building appears.
I do that too. And it's more natural to orient than a side swivel LCD (although that can work too).

Couple the tilting LCD with the composition adjustment (shift) function and you've got a power tool in hand.

I spent the weekend using a fisheye lens on the K-1, and found the adjustable screen indispensable for POV requiring holding the camera overhead or at ground level. I definitely prefer this feature, but I wouldn't let it be the buy/no buy discriminator.

What a level-headed approach!

I would guess that few if any of your shots would have benefited from the K-3iii’s quick and accurate focusing, and you’ve already told us that the superior OVF would’ve been no use to you.
You made good use of your K-1 ..... why even think of purchasing a K-3iii?

I would have benefitted from improving my proficiency in use of focus peaking in the read screen, for certain. In my case at least, my poor technique, or haste, is a bigger cause of a poor image than the camera or lens.
