Dedicated Camera Bodies (& The Lenses They Hang With)

Wondering how many here utilize specific bodies for specific purposes as opposed to those that stick to one. I have 4 Pentax bodies, to each their own seasoning. My KP is my main ax, LOVE that machine, handles my Limited Line and nothing more..... seam made for each other in more weighs than one. My Pentax 16-85 zoom is glued to my K-3, again, they seam well suited. Another such case is my delightfully diminutive K-S1, which sports the similarly sized, almost non existently weighted D40XS lens at all times, a match made in DSLR portability heaven. The only camera I own that does double duty as far as adaptability/boundaries will take it is my K-1/full frame game.

The 17-70 SDM never leaves my K-5, they seem made for each other.

I shoot film, so my main axe is the Pentax ZX-L & Tamron 28-75mm f2.8, with a (just bought) Sigma EX DG 50mm f2.8 Macro (mainly to digitize my 35mm film down the road). I also have Kalimar K-90, but its mainly used as a backup due to the lightmeter not working (I have a external lightmeter to go along with it)

KP with primes (40mm ltd, FA 28mm or A 135 2.8, plus various 50ish lenses), and K70 with 16-85 or 55-300 PLM. KP does the city, K70 handles the great outdoors.

I want to see your plan to digitize film with the ZX-L

The DA 40xs is outstanding on the ZX-L and plays on mine a lot.

I go through phases with my cameras. One lens on for a while, but then I get bored and switch to something else.

The closest for me is probably the M 24-35 on the MX.

I'm waiting for the elusive 35mm Digital Back that everybody's been talking about the last 10+ years to finally release 😂

The only Pentax camera I use with a dedicated lens on it is my WGIII but only because I have not figured out how to change it. For non pentax camera there are my Rolleichord, Holga and Brownies.

For my Pentax digital cameras I have two cameras and three zooms, including two rather cheap ones but 5 primes and my MX with 3 M series primes

K20D / 18-55WR combo for less than "safe and reasonable" conditions, especially rain.

for my Theater Photography (when it comes back!)
2 Nikon D-700's, usually with 35mm and 50mm AF lenses (but choices of MF 16 mm FE to 200 mm)
2 Pentax K-5, usually with 16mm f/2.8 FE, 20-40mm Ltd, or (K) 135mm f/2.5

Everything else now is usually film--lots of choices--ranging from 35mm (FF), 35mm panorama, and 120 (6x6 mostly).

I have two KPs. I bought the second because I broke the mode dial on my first one. Since that is now permanently in Tv (shutter priority) it pretty much has the DA 1.4 converter and the DA*300 semi permanently mounted. But if I do go for a hike with that combo I sometimes take the 15, or 20-40, or a macro along. And once in a while the DA55-300 PLM substitutes for the 300. But that KP is pretty much reserved for telephoto.

I have 2 bodies, K50 & K70. I mostly use the K70 w/DA 16-85mm. Depending where I'm going and what I plan to shoot I will additionally take the K50 w/DA 55-300mm plm. If I wildlife shooting I will have the the DA* 300mm on the K70 with or without the DA 1.4x teleconverter and the K50 w/DA 55-300mm plm.

I don't but my daughter prefers an old Pentax FA 28-105 on her K-10 or K-50. I just go in cycles. I either use my 35mm 2.3 or 105mm 2.8 depending on my mood when taking pictures with my Asahiflex H2.
