k100d b&w?

I have a K100d and like to shoot in b&w. I know that (after taking a picture) I can apply the b&w filter to the image; is there any way I can pre-select the filter so the image shows up in b&w as soon as I take it? I suppose this is a relatively minor problem, but my friend's Canon does it, so I thought I'd ask.

Thanks for the help!

The only way you can do that, as far as I've been able to discover, is to shoot in JPEG. You can't get a b&w preview in RAW. See pp.76-78 of the manual. BTW, if you're editing and printing your own shots you'll get better results by shooting in RAW (that's colour) and converting to b&w in your software. You have much more control over the final results.
