Thinking of moving from K-1 to K-1ii

I figure after 5 years with the K-1, moving to a K-1ii is the next logical step (I have no interest in the K3iii). Money is there to do it, just trying to justify it. Hand held pixel shift, better tracking & focus algorithms would be handy. Extreme ISO sensitivity isn't much of a factor since I don't use extreme ISO. Sorta want to do it (I know what I can sell my K-1 for and get back a good chunk of my money back) and buy a new camera, but also need to not spend too much. Thoughts?

Why not just purchase a new D-FA lens to make better use of the K-1?

K1ii seems like a pretty small upgrade from the K1. I would say the money would be better spent on lenses or held in hopes the K1iii comes out soonish.

I have both K1 and K1 II, I purchased the K1 II when it was released thinking about using the K1 as backup body. Practically, after using the K1 II for a while (thousand clicks or so), I decided to use the K1 again: I don't use handheld pixel shift, I see no difference in AF performance for what I shoot, image quality is pretty much the same. Last but not least, I scratched my K1, replaced the grip leather, so if I want to sell one of the bodies, I'd get more money out of the K1 II that has no signs of wear, I decided to preserve the K1 II as backup and use the K1. My K1 has 60 000 clicks, still using it as primary body.

I upgraded the K1 to Mark II two years ago and couldn't be happier. Autofocus is sensibly improved, visible even with the old FA 50/1.4 and FA 100/2.8 macro. High ISO images are cleaner with no visible details loss; I quickly got confident enough to extended the auto ISO setting to 6400 ASA from 1600. And for the first time I managed good, no artifacts astro photos, with nothing else than single long exposures (in astro mode). And yeah, the better pictures reignited lens addiction, which I had to quash with a DFA 70-210/4 and now the HD 31/1.8. Probably not a good idea to get the K1 II after all.

Has the upgrade price changed at all from when it was first announced? Or has that ship sailed/sunk?

I'm afraid, That Train has sailed.

This ! I was in the market for an FF to upgrade from K5, debated on the K1 and K1-II , bought the K1 and spent the rest on accesories. I'll wait for K1-III and check if it is a better upgrade - which I hope it will be. Since I dont care for AF (for my kind of work), a better sensor with ability to tilt and shift would be nice. (only half joking here ;-)

I had the K-1, upgraded it to K-1ii; the difference is quite small.
How about waiting for the next FF? I don't expect one this year, but I also don't think we'll have to wait too much for it.

Strangely I have been thinking of moving from K1ii to K1, hearing about the better handling of high ISO images.

Speaking of which, and at the risk of hijacking this tread, we haven't heard much if anything from the 'names' that fed rumors in the past regarding the K-3iii run up or new lenses.
Do we need to amuse ourselves here?

I'm with the others suggesting if you are committing $ for results they'd be better spent on glass than the very minor K1II upgrade. Great lenses like the DFA50 or 85, or the newish 70-200, can make even an entry-level K-70 sing.
