FWIW, Adorama is having a 3-day "Black Friday" sale which runs through today, and they're selling Sandisk 8GB Extreme III SDHC cards for $29.95 each. I had to place my order over the phone as their Website wanted to charge me the regular price of $64 after a $15 rebate. No tax and free shipping to boot.

Well arround 5 or 6 pictures, sometimes a little bit more.

I am shooting always RAW+JPG.

When I did this on my old Nikon D70, this didn't took very long that's why I asked it

I have 2 8GB Kingston card on my K20D and my K10D and they work fine.

Best regards,
Guillaume
I have 2 of these too. They keep up with the K20D just fine. Expect longer download times because of the file sizes and the 8 GB's.

I use 2 Sandisk 4gb card, one is an extreme III, 20mb read & write and the
other is the extreme Ducati version, same speed.
Shooting FMX in raw and capturing sequence shots for stitching I found that
it didn't take to long (for me anyway) to write 7/8 shots to the card,
probably around 10 seconds. I didn't time this though.

Digging up a old thread its interesting to note that while I used a Kingston 8Gb card on the K20D in Raw,it just cant keep up with in Hi speed 3fps,but the K10D on 4Gb Raw(I know about bigger files)has no problem writing on the Sandisk 3

cheers

I've got 2 8GB Sandisk III 30 mb/sec I use in K20D

They both work perfect in K20D. These are the faster cards at 30mb per second instead of 20mb per second.

Infact in all my cameras I only use 8 GB size Sandisk cards, though Pentax is only brand I own that uses SD instead of CF. No failures yet on any...

I just realized this is a very old thread

;^)

I'd like more memory, shooting RAW with K20D...I do occasionally shoot out a card and have to change...I'd rather not do that when something exciting is happening.

Will K20D work with 8G cards?

Thinking Sandisk 8/III...I ordinarily use 4/III.

Have a question ...

On my K100D, an 8GB card maxes out the number of JPEG images available to 999 on the LCD readout.

On the other models such as the K10D, K20D, K200D, and the K2000, does Pentax include a 4th digit so that it can show over 1,000 available images?

What class? Also, was the card formatted by the camera?
