8G SD card with K20D... work?

I'd like more memory, shooting RAW with K20D...I do occasionally shoot out a card and have to change...I'd rather not do that when something exciting is happening.

Will K20D work with 8G cards?

Thinking Sandisk 8/III...I ordinarily use 4/III.

yes it should work without a problem. The k20 and most new cameras are all high capacity capable.

I have 2 8GB Kingston card on my K20D and my K10D and they work fine.

Any SD or SDHC card will work on the most recent Pentax cameras. (I've even tried micro SD with an adapter)

Best regards,
Guillaume

Should work fine, but remember "all your eggs in one basket", should one card fail all will be lost.

Maybe better to continue with multiple 4 gb cards and time the change over to suit.

I use 16 GB cards and they work fine, so 8 GB will be fine.

Thanks...

Yes, I understand the "eggs in basket" concern...and there's less risk in changing cards than changing lenses, except that SD cards are tiny..

One of my 4G/III physically came apart in the camera...happily I was able to patch it back together until I could down the files....better that it was 4G than 8G, but I don't blame SanDisk...I blame a mechanically crude (snaggish) SD port in my HP computer.

The current K2xxD cameras are capable of supporting SDHC - so an 8GB card is not a problem. My K200D has one right now. No problems at all

Also helps in buying a good reliable card brand and model.

I use Patriot 8 G SDHC cards in my K10D, so they should work in the K20D as well.

They work fine - I shot over 4300 RAW images on the K20D with Belkin Pro 8GB SD cards. No problems.

You mean 430, right?? If not, I'm doing something wrong

Ah, the "literal misquote"... Remember, I said "cards", not card... you were not paying close attention...

Actually it showed a max. capacity of 330 RAW images on the card... Over 4300 images were shot using two of them during a 36 day period.

Regards,
Marc

Who has experiences with the K20D and using Sandisk Extreme III 8GB cards and reviewing photo's after a burst of pictures ?

I have the experience that it takes a long time before the camera gives me the opportunity to review the pictures.

Are other cards faster in this respect ?

How many is a "burst", and are you shooting RAW or JPEG? Those details will help answer the question...
