So true! I've been lucky to do a fair amount of September touring. Much nicer when you don't have to fight crowds etc. and can really take a place in at your own pace.

Yosemite is so choked with people these days, it can be frustrating. I recommend the redwoods up in Del Norte county, near Crescent City, for a redwoods experience... and Crater Lake up here in Oregon for another magical place, which is a bit less crowded.
Thanks for the heads up! I havent been to yosemite but ill keep that in mind

Is there any time of the year when Yosemite is not choked with people? I'd really love to see it and it's one of those that's attainable. Thanks for the suggestions!

OK, I've had a think.

1. Japan. I've already been but there's so much more to see. I'd love to go back for six months (or more) and travel around.
2. The Alps. I'm not a climber but it looks so beautiful, I'd love to hike and photograph.
3. India. I love the food and would love to explore the country with a camera or two.

Also on my list of places I'd like to return to would be Paris, New York, Cambodia and Vietnam, but Japan holds a special place. I yearn to go back there.

I live in Eastern Canada and I have already visited 9 of our 10 provinces over the years.

I started exploring the American Southwest in 1978 and returned multiple times, either by car or by plane (1978 -1979 (2X) -1980 -1981 -1982 -1983 (2X) -1998 - 2013 - 2014 - 2017 - 2018 - 2019).

I explored mainly National and State Parks in Colorado, Utah, Nevada, California, Arizona, New Mexico and West Texas.

I never tire of this magnificent territory and so much lies undiscovered yet.

California is the ultimate destination : Mountains, Deserts, Oceans. Arizona is a close second in natural beauty.

Regards

But if you like fishing boats........

They do still have them post Brexit, right? Haven't been up that way since the 90's.

I guess that's an acquired taste... bit like train spotting.

Aye it's still Britain's largest fishing port, but it sees 18% fall in catch after Brexit.

I have missed travel overseas during our 18-month isolation, but not as much as I thought I might. I’m just about done with travel within Australia, and I’d like to get back to New Zealand again (among other places), but this thread is supposed to be about places we haven’t been.

So:
  1. Costa Rica;
  2. Siberia (really, the Trans-Siberian Railway has been on my list for decades); and
  3. Iceland.
