K100D for K200D/K20D, should I?

I'm kind of undecided right now whether I should sell my K100D or not.
I received a brand new K100D from Pentax USA this week as a replacement for my broken one.

Right now, I'm thinking to sell it because I want a weather sealed camera and lens (I don't always shoot in a rain , but sometimes it's good that I can bring a DSLR to beach/snow)

I'm thinking to get K200D and DA* 16-50mm.
I prefer K200D to K100D because;
- weather sealed.
- wireless
- custom WB
- SDM

What I like from my K100D was the high ISO capability. I used to shoot up to 1600 ISO.
Will I be able to shoot at 1600 w/K200D and still get a good result like w/K100D?

So, should I sell my Brand New K100D and get this K200D?

I am thinking of K20D too but maybe I should wait to see what Pentax will bring on the table for K30D.

Thanks for the opinions.

I went from K100D to K200D and found the high ISO of K200D was not satisfactory to me when compared to K100D. That's why I sold it to get the K20D. I'm hapyy with the high ISO now.

If you can live without the auto settings available, get the K20D. With 30% cashback from Microsoft it's a hard to pass up deal.

Wow,
it seems everybody is united to support K20D

Stratario,
thanks for pointing out the weaknesses from K200d's ISO.
that's really important for me to make decision to buy the K200d or not.

well, I just came back from camera store, trying out the K20D with the 16-50.
Man, they are so nice and fun to hold.
Decision...decision...decision...

I agree here. The K200D to me is noticably noisier at ISO 400 than the K100D, which is not so strange considering the jump in sensor resolution and the base ISO of 100 on the K200D, but still... I was kind of surprised. ISO 400 is for all intents and purposes noise free on the K100D; on the K200D i see chroma noise at that sensitivity. I would not upgrade to the K200D, although it's certainly a great camera.

I would agree with respect to 400. But I have tested pretty extensively side by side, and would say that at ISO 1600, the K200D is at least as good as the K100D when viewed at the same size. And since the K200D has significantly more resolution, there is more detail there to begin with before noise starts robbing you of it - meaning the K200D pictures at ISO 1600 come out better overall than those from the K100D.

I will concede that the K100D is frankly pretty bad at 1600, and at 3200 almost unusable (at least it HAS 3200 though.) That the K200D is better at 1600 is probably down to to improved software algorithms rather than the sensor -- but either way, yes, I'm sure it is better overall, especially when printing the images instead of pixel peeping.

Actually, the improved software would mostly affect JPEG only, and I shoot RAW. So I'm not seeing that. Although there may well be firmware processing that *would* affect RAW, and if nothing else, there is also different analog-digital-converter and other hardware aside from the sensor itself.

As for ISO 3200, the K100D fakes this by shooting underexposed at 1600 then doubling the RAW values. You can do the same thing in PP yourself simply by shooting underexposed 1600 then pushing exposure 1 EV. So no great loss. And actually, it's when doing this that I am most aware of the improvement from K100D to K200D. If I have the luzry of taking a well-exposed shot at ISO 1600, the cameras are more similar in noise (which is to say, "average" - I wouldn't say "pretty bad").
