2nd K200D or a K20D

I have a K200D atm, with 16-50, 50-135, 18-250 and other lenses.

The prices of both the K200D and the K20D have dropped so much here (UK) that I am seriously tempted to get a second body, so I can leave the 18-250 on one, and mix and match with the other.

What say the PentaxForums Massif: a second K200D, which I am familiar with, and happy with in terms of IQ and operation, or, for 100 Sterling more, get a K20D?

Other costs will be incurred with a K20D, e.g. batteries, battery grip. Let's say an extra 200 GBP all in.

TIA.

why not a gently used K10D? plenty in the forsale section and on fleabay and less cost than either while using the same sensor as your K200D?

I just upgraded from the K200D to the K20D, and I highly recommend it. There are so many little details that make me happy whenever I use them... For instance, say I'm on auto ISO, but I want to set a specific ISO... I could go into the fn menu as on the k200, or I can just press the ok button while turning the front dial - sweet! Done with that iso and want Auto set again?... pres the ok button and the green button to return to auto - sweet again! This is just one example, but the camera's loaded with them - many external buttons or switches to do what I had to go to the menu for on the k200. Oh yeah... also the buffer. I seldom fire away on continous, but what I often do is repeatedly shoot while my son crawls around or similar, and I've filled the buffer before on the k200, but doubt I ever will on the K20.

I know that the K20D inherited many of it's traits from the K10, so, since you have the 200 already, I'd recommend the K10D at least, or the K20D if you can afford it.

Can I ask why you feel you need the second body? Are you planning on taking quick succession photos of different types that don't allow for lens changes?

For the same price as a new body, you could pick up some nice new lenses....

Hmmm... sage advice here, but I offer a third possibility (and what I did). Get the K20D thinking you'll have two bodies. Then when you like it way more than the K200, and realize you'll seldom use the 200, as you'd prefer to have the lens you want on the body you prefer, sell the 200 and use that money to further your quiver of lenses. Of course money might not be a problem as you state you have a "K200D atm" which sounds handy... having your own ATM (now I'm hoping ATMs are called ATMs in the UK)...

Well done! You'll be impressed (actually since I'm a bit late here, you probably already are ).
