Any way to invert live view?

Hi there, I've been watching some large format photography on youtube and I found the way they compose the images upside down was interesting. I've been using this approach in post processing and I found it helpful to identify problem areas and balance in a scene. I was wondering if it is possible to to invert the screen in live view on a Pentax digital camera (or any other digital camera really)?

I'd also like this feature... maybe more practical for tripod work than inverting the entire camera is to get an external monitor? But no, it's not an available feature

Could you use Image Sync software on an iPad, lock the screen and turn it upside down?

Seems like the best bet unless they decide to add it as a feature in future.

All cameras already invert the image that the sensor capture before it is displayed on the screen.
So you actually want the camera to stop inverting the captured image in live view.

If you have a camera with a tiltable screen you can face away from the scene the camera capture and the image you look down on the screen will be inverted.

With a fixed screen you can use a mirror at 45 degrees to reflect the image so it can be viewed from directly above. It will be upside down but left will be on the left and right will be on the right. You can get plastic mirrors cheaply online.

By the way, I needed to take some self portraits with the camera hand held. The screen (it wasn't a Pentax) tilted up or down but couldn't be viewed from the front of the camera. I fixed a plastic mirror at 45 degrees above the (horizontal) screen and could see the whole screen in live view from in front of the camera, the right way up but left to right reversed; just what I wanted.

You can buy glasses which have inverting prisms in them (used for research purposes - and fun). Popping these on would give you the upside-down view you need and then you can take them off before you kill yourself trying to walk

This is probably your best bet for framing an image upside down. Because guys, turning your camera upside down will not work for an obvious reason for what OP is asking for

Unfortunately, I don't know why, but all digital cameras are inverted (compared to view cameras). I know what it can be like to come from large format, you have to train yourself to compose inverted images (relative to view cameras) and without using a dark cloth. I use a dark cloth on my K1 , but I have to tune down the outdoor view setting because the screen is too bright with camera default setting. I would suggest ricoh to add a "view camera" mode via firmware update: square crop ground glass simulation, flip image upside down, lower screen brightness to minimum.

Just tried an old prism I had lying around and that seems to do the trick and a bit less conspicuous than the glasses!
