As you may have guessed from the title I'm looking to try a Pentax digital body with one of my M42 lens's

Is it really as easy as buying a mounting ring & looking for a digi body ?

Ideally I would try a cheap body to get used to the way it works

Any advice as to how to go about this very welcome

I would look for a used body where the seller admits that the body’s aperture control has failed. You will be getting a relatively new body, but won’t need the aperture control part, and it should be inexpensive. I personally have a K-30 which I originally purchased almost new and aperture control started failing after a few years. After getting a KP when they offered them at $700 on Black Friday 2018, I’m beginning to see my K-30 as a “M42 only” body.

I have now noticed that in the "my activity" drop down menu the "liked posts" is greyed out...... looks like that could be the problem ?

No- but some ad blockers block the thumbs up icon, so that could be happening here.

I've turned off the Adblock & the "thumbs" sign has appeared, that's a new one on me

I've made an exception for the forum so will wait a bit to see what sort of ad's come through (if any)

Done a few "thumbs up's" now

That seems strange. Does your ad-block software work “all or nothing” and does it include your spam filtering or can you only disable for browsing this site (whitelisting). Most email spam isn’t connected to browsing ads.

in the left bottom corner : the thumbs up is just next/right of the warning triangle.
odd you see only one ? Try clicking just right of triangle ?


(note : on my own post, i can see also alone the triangle : you can give only thumbs up to other peoples replies (were you accidently looking to your own first post.... ))
