ML-60 for K200D?

Hi all,

One of the features I really like about my Pentax cameras is the level indicator in the OVF. However, my trusty K200D doesn't have this feature; does anyone know if the ML-60 focusing screen will fit the K200D?

TIA

I'm not sure that changing the focusing screen would give you the level indicator in the OVF...

Sorry,

My original question might have been a bit obtuse. I know it won't give me a level indicator, I just figure the horizontal lines might make it easier to get the horizon level. I just don't know if the ML-60, developed for the K5/K7 line, will fit the K200D. The eye-cup holder is the same on all my Pentaxes with the exception of the K3iii.

Thanks for your answer anyway

The ML-60 fits the K-7/5/5ii/5iis/3/3ii/30/50/70/500/K-S1/K-S2/KP.

The K200D used the same screen as the K100D/K100D Super/K-m/x/r. I don't remember if Pentax made optional screens with lines for those bodies; I expect they would be pretty hard to find now, unless you went with a 3rd-party screen.

Thanks for your answers.
Guess I'll just keep righting the horizon in post-processing then.

My *ist DS appears to have a similar screen layout to your K200D (according to the pdf manual) and I simply use the top (or bottom) of the a/f frame for horizon alignment. If conditions require, I'll also use the sides of the a/f frame against the wall of a building or other vertical feature obviously this won't work if the camera is tilted
Back in my film days I had a little bubble device that fitted into the accessory shoe occasionally useful on a tripod, not otherwise

Sort of what I'm doing now, aligning the markings on the screen with any horizontal or vertical line in the frame; a kind of distant cousin to the focus-and-recompose technique, I guess, then fixing any obvious misses in pp. I just wondered if maybe there was a simpler, more comfortable way to do it. Thanks for your answer, though.
