Pull Trigger: K20D...

I am going to get the K20D this week. After a couple of weeks debating and selling some stereo equipment, I have cash in the Paypal account and an itchy trigger finger.

Funny, the prices have gone up some? Looking at ProDigital on the popular auction site, they were cheaper a month ago. Also, the lowest prices are Sat. and Sun., which defies normal Ebay logic. I had 10% off coupons for Oct. and Nov., naturally I have none now.

Looking at ProDigital as the lowest possible purchase price and the $739.00 Beach Camera as a legit purchase price, I am deciding to go US. ProDigital goes $650.00 +/- with $30.00 shipping for a Canadian purchase. Beach Camera is $739.00 with free shipping, a bag, and the three year warranty. I'll go for the warranty overall. Also versus used. This purchase is expensive enough and complex enough to consider the warranty value. Three years is a long time.

I've been tracking the k20 as well as the mslive discounts. Unfortunately, as of today, the "buy it now" discount percent is only 15% down from 25 which isdown from the initial 30%. fortunately the k20 was down as well but has now bottomed or slightly increased. bottom line' my procrastination has currently cost me 60 dollars andbrought the camera that much above $600US which was the cheapest w/ USA warranty I (note I) found....

I believe the 3-year warranty is valid through purchase by the end of December. It would be a shame to let that pass by. Very valuable. Think of selling the K20D in two years, a used camera with 1-year left on warranty. That would be huge.

I wonder if there will be a post Christmas price dump? I might buy on December 26. ????????.

I have been tracking since 11/3 on Amazon (since I have gift cards to use),. I purchased it last week for $699. On 11/3 it was $799. I believe it is about $720 or so now. Although I think Adorama is lower.

I have also been tracking the 200mm f2.8 and the 50-135 which as of today went up a few dollars in price since 11/23. the 200 was $847 on 11/4 and now is $784. I'm counting on more gift cards!

3 year warranty is available thorugh 12/31. You have to fax Pentax and give them your info and send copy of receipt for them to send you the extended warranty card.

Change the title to "Pulled The Trigger"...

Those of you on the fence check this out: $699.00. Got a K20D from Adorama on an e-mail sale. K20D with Kit Lens. USA sale eligible for 3-year warranty. Free shipping. That is the best deal going, especially since I don't have a kit auto-lens.

You have to get the link to the page that was sent to the Adorama mail list. Then, you're in.
