The great part about the forum you can look at all the dedicated DLSR sections. Wonderful images no matter the camera body or vintage.

That being said all the aps-c K Series after your 7 (K5, K3, KP, K70) are great. Higher resolution, better high iso, speed.
I recommend buying a used one in good condition from a reputable seller (KEH, Used photo Pro, Adorama, Mpb, local
Camera shop) and using it for while. You can always resell it here or elsewhere for not much of a loss.

The K1 it might be worth renting to try out first. Even used prices is going to be 1.5-3 times the cost of the aps-c brothers.

Regardless of what I said earlier, I've noticed the K-70 sells for around $550 these days.
