K10D frame count

Hey all mine at PMA turned over 10K, and I have already shot over 2K since than not too bad for having it just over 3.5months, and jan is a dead month really for me so really most of the photos have been taken in about 2.5mo. I fig I will roll over again in May. I will let you all know.

So what all do you have on your K10D's

I'm at 5064 since I buying my cam on Dec. 14. So if I continue at this pace...about 20k/year?

I imagine a K10D will fare just as good at my pace.

My problem - I don't think my hard drives will fare as well...6GB free space remaining

(But I'm still shooting with the DS, too. That one is at 57,000.)

Oh I forgot, I still use 2 cameras and in the same time I have put another 5-7K on one of my D's
Problem with the K10D is I shoot all RAW+ now so add up 10K worth of shots and that = like 200gig, I am curently usning about 1tb worth of HDD. I serisously need more space

I feel inadequate. I am only a little over 2,000 and I am doing a photo a day project this year so I shoot every day. I got my *istD three years ago and have shot several weddings, a calendar, many portraits and several personal projects and have only shot a little under 15,000 shots with it. What am I doing wrong?

Nothing. Quality over quantity?

If you don't have any kids, that instantly eliminates 20%. No pets, another 20%. No girlfriend/friends (or ones who don't like their picture taken) - another 20%.

And if you don't like flowers, that's another 20%.

So, depending on where you are with those, you might be right on the money.

Don't forget 20% for squirrels.

Well maybe 19.5%; that leaves room for photos of the feet, the ceiling, blank spaces---you know-screw-ups.

Guess all that leave is time to drink more beer. Sounds good to me!

Davemdsn - nothing wrong with you. I'll agree with John and Carpents on all points.

Of all my family and friends, I'm undoubtedly the shutterbug/papparazzi. They know if I can get my hands on any camera, be it even one of those disposables - I'll shoot! (That probably counts for the first 3500 of my shots)

My high count is also probably due more to me still learning my gear. You'll often see me doing a "...what does this do?" *click!* "Oh...and what about this?" Even though I may have read it in the owners manual or the forums two times and again for safe measure, to me, sometimes it doesn't add up until I see a result on the cam. So, I end up spending a ton of shots of nothing special or the same thing.

I do this all the time-even when out shooting things for money. "Maybe if I try this" or "how about that". Followed closely by "Oopps, that s*cks", hit the delete!
