Green Pentax newborn here-

Hello all!

Just added a K20 and 16-45 f4 to my kit. Looks like a great camera and lens combo here for a starter.

Quik Hist-

I am a professional photographer who until now, only used one other brand as my sole DSLR photography needs. After extensive research on Pentax (and the entire DSLR market) I have come to the conclusion that Pentax fits a real niche for me, and decided to add a 2nd system to my photography needs.

What stood out for me mainly was how well thought out the camera(s) are and seem to be designed for photographers, mainly in ergonomics and customization. Image quality seems to be just my cup of tea as well (after downloads of many raw image files from the net).

Good pricing on excellent lenses was icing on the cake. I look forward to reading the forums here and participating when I can.

Cheers all,

Carl

Indeed.

I am looking forward to it as well, I have a specific niche I'm hoping will be fulfilled. Looks likely I'll be very pleased. Thank you for the welcome.

I knew talking on these forums was going to be productive . Funny, I'm listening to Cygnus X-1 at this moment, how ironic!

Astrophotography is something I will be pursing in the future speaking of (sort of), can't wait to get that rolling along.

Welcome to both the forum and Pentax, never fear to be different as now you will stand out in the crowd for not being one of the other major brands.

I've pushed, shoved and elbowed with the best of them, as you know it's about the image you capture, not the equipment you do it with.

Pentax over the years has always allowed me to "bring home the bacon".

You know, on seeing that login name, my initial thought was that this was a political reference - an endorsement of the idea of a particular media pundit running for US president in four years.

Then I remembered the rock group... EDIT: and realized I was 100 years off on the date of the next election :-)

Martin Zalba is a very talented Astrophotographer. He is using the Pentax K10.
I mentioned some of his work, in this thread :
