If by Takumar lenses you mean M42 Screw mount lenses and by "new" Pentax cameras you mean any of the current DSLR K-mount bodies than the answer is that with an appropriate M42 to K-mount adapter nearly all the Takumar screw mount lenses can be used with some limitations. There were a few Takumar branded K-mount lenses which can also be used without an adapter with some limitations as well.

I'm pretty sure every Takumar lens is compatible with the official adapter (or an unofficial one of course).

There are m42 lenses that can be incompatible without some modification though. The Fujinon m42 lenses are examples that immediately spring to mind but it's rare.

I've used plenty of screw mounts with the K-mount adapter. I've even used an enlarger lens with correct adapters on my Pentax DSLR for copying slides. You have to use them in manual mode, but I guess that is the whole point of using them.

All of them. You will need an M42-K mount adapter to mount the screw mount lenses on a K mount camera. Pentax put the Takumar name on s few bayonet mount lenses in the 1980s, they mount without the adapter.

There are also P67 mount Takumar lenses that require a 67->K adapter. (I’m sure the OP was meaning the m42 lenses, but for the sake of completeness…)

Originally Takumar (super - S-M-C) were M42x1 screw mount lenses for the SV and Spotmatic series
Also the Takumar 6x7 for the 6x7 cameras
However, the Takumar lens was used for cheap pentax K mount lenses in the 80s

Takumar - Camera-wiki.org - The free camera encyclopedia

Takumar lenses will work with most cameras with the proper adapter, for Pentax there is the official one which is highly recommended
