I have pre-ordered

I do not own a Pentax at this time and my digital camera is not up to snuff.. so its this DSLR or nothing right now.

I got to play around with the Nikon D-70 today.. good camera, but I think the K10D fits the features I want

I'm waiting for now, so I voted maybe.

I had a little fun with it at the Kina and I really liked it. I also think the IQ will be quite good. If everything works out fine, I will be buying one begin next year...

As most of you know, I am not a pentax owner....yet

I will wait until the reviews are out..... I always investigate my purchases and think things through before I buy.

I am thinking if the sensor is the same as the Nikon D80, which is getting great reviews, then the images from the K10D should be simular.

Now do I buy the K10D or save big bucks and buy the K100D and a great lens for it for the same price?

I have to admit, 10MP is about all I will likely ever need for the shooting I do, and the manual dials (I prefer not to use menus) on the K10D plus the .raw button are almost to darn good to pass up.

oh boy, more to think about

Why wait?

I have rarely found reviews highly useful for judging a camera or lens. Most reviews barely skim the surface. They often have errors that I can spot. Look at all the 10MP dslrs. There isn't a bad one in the bunch. All are capable of taking much better pictures than most people can. To me it comes down to the way the camera and system fits your shooting preferences and needs. If you like the K10D buy it. The image quality isn't likely to hold anyone back. Just enjoy it. People make this a lot harder than it needs to be. This is supposed to be FUN. Unless you are being paid.
thanks

I'm being paid to use my cameras and it's still fun. What more could you want? Life is good.

I voted "no" for now. The K100D does everything I need. About the only thing I'd think I'd want would be the weather sealing. I don't want 10mp and am worried it will only give more noise. I like the low light performance of the K100D and would hate to lose that. 6mp is plenty large enough for me (in fact, sometimes it's a little too big). The largest I print is 8x10 (at home) so I'm not looking for more pixels anytime soon.

That being said, I am a geek, and I do like to have the latest/greatest gadgets, so I'll probably break down and buy one next year.

Still thinking about it.

I'm still trying to decide on the K10D and one lens (18-55mm) or the K100D and two lenses (50mm f1.4 & 18-55mm). I like the features of the K10 - shake reduction, weather resistant, dust removal system and the easy exposure mode settings.

I do wonder about the low light performance and hope it's on par or better with the K100D which I understand is very good in low light. I'll have to wait for some reviews on that.

I have amended my decision. I upped and ordered a K100D instad of the K10D.

But I eagerly look forward to your reports of this camera. I will be getting one down the road if favorable

I am.
I`ve had the K100D for a few weeks, and while the image quality is exellent, it`s too slow in use and I`m not comfortable with it`s ergonomics...

I'm debating whether or not to get a K10 or a K100. My DS is serving me well, and due to my lower income I am not able to spend a lot on lens acquisitions. With this in mind I am not sure a K10 would be the right choice for me. Though I would really appreciate some of its features (the weather sealing mostly due to the humid climate where I live), but everything I am reading indicates, the current crop of 10 MP DSLRs are rather unforgiving of mediocre lenses. This along with the higher cost (a K100 is going for less than 500$ for just the body, and yes the 10 is only 4-500 more, but that makes a big difference to me).) is leading me to lean more towards the K100. Hopefully I will be able to purchase whichever I choose sometime this Spring.

I'm a bit in the same boat. I'm thinking though that if I can control myself for another year or so and stay with the DS, then buy the upgraded K100D.
