K10D 1.10 Firmware

Hi all,

I seem to have some back focus problems with my K10D and SMC FA 31mm. Anyways, I'm hearing that 1.10 firmware allows you to go into debug mode and adjust the focus calibration.

Does anyone know where I can get the 1.10 firmware? Does anyone have a copy of it handy?

Thanks!

The 1.31 firmware allows that, too.
All you need is the pktriggercord software and a suitable USB cable to connect your K10D to your computer.
Did that on a computer running Linux - and if I can do that it can't be complicated.

I followed your advice of using pktriggercord and did the same on a Windows machine. It's not hard. 👍

It depends on the camera's firmware version. Mine came with version 1.31 which doesn't not allow to enter into debug mode directly from the camera's menu. That's why I had to use the software mentioned before. That way you don't have to mess around with hacks to downgrade the firmware of your camera.

I have the 1.31 version and I followed the instructions from that thread that I linked, that tell you to put a file on your SD card and start your camera with it. No need to install another version of the firmware, no need to use cables and other software.

Right, I forgot about that method. If it works for him, good, but it didn't work with mine and had to use the cable + software method.
So, he has 2 options.

Thanks all! I was able to calibrate going directly to Debug Mode from 1.0 firmware. Had to make an adjustment of +110 um to be able to focus my Pentax SMC FA 31mm. Things are tack sharp now!
