New 21L

I have just tested the 21L extensively using the extreme upper and lower led sensors and the images are focussing where they should be. I am so pleased, as it seems the copy I had was at fault.

I have shot extreme close up shots attempting to recreate where the head of the model would be on the vertical axis shooting at 45 degress and it was sharp where I focussed. Tack Sharp!!! Yahoo...Finally I can use this BABY..LA..LA LALA...LALA LLAA LLAA.....Yipee..

Sorry got carried awy!

I have a pre-prod meeting in about a week to shoot for "SOON" magazine...So you want more shoe throwing stuff eh? Nope, this time I'll have her throw my old Canon 1Ds at me as it crashes in to my finally working 21L lens..What do you think? You think it will have the impact I need to leave a lasting impression on the magazine?

I still have another four double pages to show you from the "Diva" story that you haven't seen yet...

Here are two shots taken recently, which show some kind of 3D look.
The DA21 is really GREAT!

f4.5, 1/180, ISO 400

f3.2, 1/45, ISO 400

Good to see your lens is working with your cam.

Just for your own satisfaction (and maybe ours too) you might follow up with the model leaving the broken 1Ds at the doorstep of the Canon offices?

Focus selection point

Ben,
I also have the 21 Limited. Glad you have a solution to the back focus problem. You select the upper or lower focus sensor. How do you select which one you want to use for each photo session? I would think that selecting the lower sensor would focus in front of the subject and hence the subject would be in correct focus because the "real" focus point would be behind that point?
By the way, really like your work.

I bought it in January.
I really love it.
It is more versatile than I first thought.

Strongly recommended!
