Audiophilia is mostly a faith-based pastime. It has little to do with the underlying physics and math. I've had a self-proclaimed audiophile tell me that the Nyquist sampling theorem is wrong. Why? Because everyone knows vinyl sounds better than digital!
Vinyl and tube amps supposedly sound better because people grew up listening to them and believe that the characteristics of those things are correct.
