Good Morning all, Hope you all had a Merry Christmas. My question is when I view some of my shots particularly in low or high backlight areas of the photo it flashes a red colour in these areas. How do I delete this as this is my first digital and I am finding it a steep learning curve.

I'm sorry, I'm too tired to get my camera and find where you change it. But it'll give you a chance to read the manual again.

People call them 'blinkies' they are highlighting the parts of the picture that are over exposed.
You can leave them on or turn them off.

It's under the Menu button. Playback (blue) settings -> then select for which mode you'd like to disable the highlight/shadow blinking. There are checkboxes under the menus for the appropriate modes, called "Bright/Dark area." You can also enable/disable showing the Histogram there.

You might want to remember those setting changes and how to enable/disable them - I've found it really helps in the right situation. I turn it off when I'm in a situation with controlled lighting, on when I'm doing outdoor and event photography.
