K110D AC/DC Adapter

I just signed up and did a search to no avail on this subject.

Does anyone know what the tip size is for the K110 AC to DC adapter? I want to get a 6.5vdc adapter but I don't know what the barrel (tip) should be.

Pentax wants way too much for theirs and I will try to get a universal if I can. Also, anyone know the mwh required?

Thanks.

D AC10 adapter is rated for 6.5 VDC. 3000 mA. I assume 110 uses same as 100D.
Barrell OD measured 4.8mm.
Center pin is around 1.2mm. 1.3mm felt little tight.
Open circuit voltage read 6.68 VDC with Fluke 87 DMM.
I did not measure what the camera actually draws.
Hope this helps..
Cheers.
Mike.
Allmost forgot, the center pin is positive.

Thanks very much.

Any idea where I could find an adapter without paying $100 to Pentax?

I finally braved up and made one myself out of stuff laying around the house. I used a 5V that put out ~6.5V if I recall correctly....then had to figure out the polarity. It's sitting around here somewhere. It worked great, I used it for doing timelapses for weeks.

The camera isn't too sensitive about the voltage. I think (guessing here, haven't checked thoroughly) that the battery terminals are connected directly to the AC adapter terminals...because when you put the plug in (I took the batteries out to be safe) the battery meter shows a level....Mine said it was almost empty (empty outline of a battery). But it worked fine.

Anyway, let us know if you find a cheap and easy product somewhere. Mine was pretty kludgey
