K20 Novice needs advice

Hi all, I just bought a K20d & am a novice DSLR photographer. I could do with some help on lenses, equipment & learning resources.

I intend to shoot landscapes (I live in the French Pyrenees so I have lots of opportunity) & I would also like like to shoot indoors in natural light (Portraits)

Later I'd like to shoot pictures of Birds.

I got the K20d because of the rugged construction (I will do lots of Hiking with it), the semi pro features ( plenty of scope for learning & creative photography) the price and the availability of lenses at reasonable cost (I'm on a budget)

I got the 16-45 lens with the camera for landscapes. I was considering the budget Pentax 50-200mm f4-5.6 SMC DA Lens, but after experimenting with the F4 16-45 indoors I'm wondering whether its going to be fast enough for my indoor shots - I'd appreciate recommendations for a lens suitable for indoor natural light portraits.

Given what I want to do is the Pentax 50-200mm f4-5.6 SMC DA Lens a good buy ?

A recommendation for a camera mounted flash would be helpful as well, I'd like to bounce the flash off the walls & ceiling for my indoor shots.

Could anyone point to me to some learning resources to help me learn to shoot manually ?

Any help appreciated

The DA 50-200 will be useful for landscapes as well as portraits.

1/350 sec, f/8, 200 mm, 800 ISO

For indoor shots, some nice options are a fast M28/2.8 or A28/2.8 (about $100), a popup flash diffuser (Google it), a flash, and/or noise reduction software (see Noiseware, Noise Ninja, etc). A fast 50 such as the A50/1.7 (about $75) will do great for portraits as well but it's not as general purpose a focal length IMHO - no indoor group shots or indoor full body shots.

Another suggestion for portrait and indoors the Tamron 28-75mm/2.8 XR Di very sharp and fast for a zoom at a reasonable price.
