Their buynow price is $929 (we are talking Canadian dollars btw). Auctions usually go for around $750can + $65 shipping.

They had a number of auctions on eBay before xmas that ended at the $700 range (or less). I'm guessing it's more than that now?

I'm undecided but I think it may be worth the extra $100 Henrys charges to receive their excellent service (I've ordered a body, lenses and other accessories from them over the years and have always had excellent service...)

I have no opinions on these specific sellers, except prodigital whom I decided to never deal with again (so they have since lost a couple grand in sales).

I do think it is worth paying a premium to work with a seller you trust. That (and good service) is worth money. Whether it's worth $100 I cannot say. Maybe they'll split the difference with you if you make them an offer?

I've noticed price increases in other areas as well. I think part of the philosophy at the moment is sales levels are down so why not get as much as you can for what you are selling". The idea being that people are buying because of want or need and not price point.

The local shops here in town want $1200+ and I bought mine in Dec for $606 from prodigital. I've picked up all of my newer items from Prodigital and have been very happy. Pay for the 2 day delivery and they will pack the item properly......which they don't seem to do with regular shipping......

In case you didn't know, the Pentax promotion to dealers ended last week so you can expect K20D prices to be about $75-$100 higher as new inventory has to be reordered at higher prices.

PS This applies to Canon and Pentax as well that ended 3 weeks ago.

Amazon had the body for $699 in Dec and they tossed in a free Optio A40 with it for free. Now I'm kicking myself for not jumping on that.

BuyDig.com still has it listed at $699 body-only, including Pentax Gadget Bag (normally $25), Pentax 2YR add-on extended warranty (total 3 - normally $40) and a DaneElec 4Gb SDHC card (normally $13). The Pentax Case and 2YR extended warranty (totalling 3 years) makes it worth it, I think. The Dane will be a nice, um, "practice" card, I suppose.

just saw on amazon through a third party seller (prophotobags who I know nothing about) is selling the body for 649 w/ free shipping! that's the lowest I've seen on Amazon so far, though the 699 w/ free optio sounds like a great deal too. seems like an amazing deal for this cam...

I am seriously considering upgrading my *ist DL to a nice new K20D. I have some gift certificates, and some cash, making the $899 Canadian look pretty attractive.

But now I glance at the price today, and it's gone UP to $1099!! What happened? Anyone have news? I can't believe a consumer electronic good just increased by $200 in one day....

No surprise here. With strong Yens and weak foreign currencies, except US Dollars.

Wow, I just got my K20D (still NIB) off of eBay from Henry's in Toronto for $620 plus shipping (so, around $650). Got it yesterday. It's perfect!

Good thing too, because I would rather buy through Henry's but at $1099 that wasn't happening.
