They said in lens shake reduction was better? Did they also mention that you have to pay for it with EVERY LENS you buy? It may be a little better, but it is also WAY more expensive. Remember, every lens you attach to a Pentax is stabilized, at no extra cost..

I would definitely go with K20D, not K10D. Quite a few bugs introduced in K10D were fixed for good in K20D body.
And if you will be photographing landscapes and macros then Pentax will suit you as good as any other DSLR. Pentax is not as good as Nikon in AF department, salesperson was correct about this, but for landscape AF speed is not crucial.

i guess all I need to know now is the best place/best deal to order from.

The ebay deal seems to be too good to be true?

To be honest, a lot of the items on that ebay deal ( the tripods, "wide angle" lens, etc...) are probably junk. But, you never know. I have bought both of my cameras off of Amazon and have no complaints at all..

I ordered it from Amazon. I also signed up for the free trail of Amazon Prime so I could upgrade to overnight for $3.99! It says I will have it tomorrow, but we will see about that. Amazon tends to lag at times.

Now I just need to get the M42 adapter so I can use my lenses.

I hope I made the right choice with the K20D rather the D90

I think you'll be pleased!

And make sure to get a genuine Pentax M42 adapter or one without the "flange" (there's plenty of threads on here about the differences)

This is an example of a game of telephone. Everyone has repeated the claim Canon correctly made, 'For long range lenses, particularly over 300mm focal lengths, it isn't possible to move a sensor fast enough to account for lens shake. ' until it turned into an entirely different claim, Lens shake reduction is better.

The only true head to head test, involving a Tamron (I think) lens and an Olympus body, showed the biggest improvement was sensor based. Other tests are inconclusive at best and speak more to the biases of the reviewers rather than definite results.

It's a great example of how a specific claim about technology that's true can become a misleading marketing blurb in the hands of the general public. Oddly, Canon hasn't gone out of their way to correct the misconception.

this is what I can remember for the glass that I've got.

Auto Promaster Zoom f=80-200mm (M42)
Quantaray 1:63 f-400mm (M42)
Albinar 80-200mm macro zoom (K-mount)
Super-Macro-Takumar 1:4/50 (M42)
SMC Pentax 1:2 50mm (K-Mount)
SMC Takumar 1:1.8/55 (M42)
A 3x-teleconveter (M42)

I think there are a few other odds-n-ends in there somewhere.

I think I have made up my mind and am going the K20D direction. Amazon has a pretty good deal for the kit at $865. I see on ebay they have some kits that come with like 2 lenses and a bunch of other stuff for the same price. (Pentax K20D 14MP SLR Digital Cam K20 2 LENS 8GB KIT NEW - eBay (item 230323871455 end time Mar-07-09 10:31:58 PST)) Are these trustworthy?
You can get the k20d body only for $733 and you could use the balance to either buy the kit lens off ebay or the marketplace on this site for less than the difference (865-733). Or you could use that money to buy a lens better suited for your landscapes... since you have your other lenses already, it's not like you won't have anything to shoot with. Looks like your Takumars will be good lenses too! Make sure doing set up, you allow your camera to use manual lenses...

Good luck w/ your decision!

so I am currently charging the battery for my new K20D.

Was I supposed to get a warranty card or anything? The camera is covered under some sort of warranty correct?
