Lucky Scottish bastard.

Actually, next time I make it up your way again, I must have a look at that bridge. And visit the hometown of the Skids.

In case anyone is unclear on the facts: Edinburgh rocks. Haggis and neeps is perfect with a pint. That Loch Ness is one scary place. Skye has the most beautiful light of anywhere on earth. The rest of the country ain't shabby either.

You could swim over and ask for asylum... But yes, Edinburgh is quite simply the most beautiful city on Earth.

Actually, you are mostly correct. DFS kicks in after any 20 second or greater exposure, outside of bulb mode. BUT in bulb mode, DFS essentially kicks in for every exposure (even 5 seconds).

I must have picked up the 8 seconds from another poster.
Ah, that explains it. Thanks.

Looks like you have succeeded in getting the silent majority to be vocal. Count me in the happy group. Dave

noise reduction

I got a K20D one week ago today, is there any way to completely eliminate any and all noise reduction settings, I do a lot of night shots and long exposures and I am not too keen on that wait time

No. It's wish listed in the news/rumors forum.
Please do take a few moments and send an email to gripe about it on pentaxusa's support site if it bugs you. It can't hurt....

Happy K20D user here. Not sure it's giving me that much over my K10D, not since I've started using strobes, and the extra ISO levels have become less important to me. But I'm sure I appriciate it the next time I shoot indoor available light... maybe I should go put the 50mm 1.4 on it and put down the strobes for a shile...

Can't believe this thread is still going. LOL

Had my K20D near on a year now, can't fault it, a real workhorse, unstopable.

I believe in fair statistics so I think I should add myself to the happy-list. Forums like this tends to suck together people with problems, and those who dont have them dont make any noise about it. That gives a wrong impression.

Nothing so far is wrong with my K20D. All the small annoyances of my old K100D Super is gone, and theres so many improvements. So Im very happy. The K20D isjust slightly bigger. I'll have to live with that.

Im off for some late night shooting.

Exactly what I will be doing today. Slapping the 50/1.4 on and taking dog portraits around town.
