Do you have continuous shooting enabled (via Fn button)?
Then the camera is holding the sensor in place for a few seconds after a shot.
This makes a certain noise.

Tried it out

Stefan,

I was wondering if you tried out the "sensor cleaning" mode (in the same menu as "dust alert" and "dust removal") on your k2000. Could you let me know if once you have selected mirror lock (up) if there are any noises coming from your camera? (Before you turn it off that is). And if there is a noise could you tell me how loud it is?

Thanks!
Putting the camera near my head (because the PC fan at this desk is so loud) it sounds like a small gas burner. That's the closest sound I can think of. Away from the PC I have to bring the camera to about 2" away from my ear to hear it.

Hope this helps
