Remote shutter release & wireless flash?

G'day all.

I'm wondering if anyone with a K200D/K20D has ever attempted triggering the shutter with a Pentax remote F whilst using wireless flash mode.

My K10D does not give me the option of doing this.
TIA.

Do you mean you can't set it for wireless remote and wireless flash, or that you can, but it just doesn't work? For the record, I can set both on my K10D simultaneously.

I mean the option is not there for me to set wireless flash when on remote mode.
i.e. the option for wireless flash is greyed out - I cannot select it. Is there perhaps a related option on the camera that disables it?

Thanks.

Wait a minute!? Triggering the camera to take an exposure with a flash? Am I understanding this correctly?
So far I've triggered my camera with IR and also triggered my AF-360 flash with the on-board flash, but is it possible to trigger my K10D with a flash?
I've heard of something like that from a guy with a Nikon, taking pictures of lightning but since there was a bit of a language gap I always thought he meant wireless flash like I do.

No, he means using the remote to trigger the camera while using the onboard flash to trigger another flash wirelessly. And it must be something on your camera as my K10D allows me to set it this way. I can't test it to be sure it works since I use a different wired/rf remote.

Well, I stand corrected:
The option exists for remote triggering the shutter with wireless flash instantly, but the option for wireless flash greys out if I choose the remote with 3 sec delay trigger option.
I don't suppose many people use this combo, but it's worth a try...

Try setting the wireless flash first. I have both timer options available that way, I don't have my camera in front of me to try it your way.

Tried that.
Once I switch to remote 3 sec delay, the flash setting changes from wireless to flash on mode.
Something I'm missing perhaps? (Manual's not clear about it).

Yeah, I get the same thing. All good except the 3sec. remote.

Oh well, guess if that kind of function is ever needed, there's always the 2 or 12sec delay options which do work with wireless, but it seems unusual that it would be disallowed for the remote 3sec delay option.

Any K20D users tried this out?
