bracketing with the k10d

Hi.
My k10d will not bracket in the green auto mode. It seems to me that it used to. Am I imagining this? The manual says nothing about having to go to P, Sv, Tv etc.
Thanks.

Hmm... Green mode, that was a long time ago. Never tried bracketing in that mode but I can tell you my K10D won't either. Bracketing seems to work for me in all modes except green and Bulb (the latter quite obvious, but still).

I also heard that bracketing in Av is the best to do if you want to create HDR's, so you can keep your aperture the same size for all exposures.

Automatic mode bracketing will completely screw up the images. One image in the set might have different aperture than the others etc. which will suck if doing HDR. Dunno about K10D but I was able to bracket in automatic mode with K200D.

k10d bracketing

Thanks for the replies. It makes sense that using Av or Sv would be a better way to go.

High Dynamic Range.... that is a trick when all parts of the scene are exposed correctly. Makes for some very dramatic photos.

But there many ways to accomplish this type of photography.

Bracketing can't occur on green since this mode doesn't permit control of exposure compensation, which is what bracketing uses to vary its shutter speeds/apertures/sensitivity - it's all automated for single exposures.
