Title says it all. I am just wondering because I shoot in AUTO, and recently I have be experimenting with other settings.

Roughly 98% of my shots are taken in Aperture Priority mode.

Av Mode. I mostly want to control DOF and stop down the lens for max sharpness.

Every-so-often I'll jump over to TAv to also keep the shutter sufficiently high to avoid camera shake or avoid motion blur.

Av here too. Manual ISO on front dial also - very handy.
Other 5% of time is in M or P modes.
Rarely use Tv or Sv, but I have found TAv useful on more than one occasion.

Tv when shooting events indoors where people are moving. Typically around 1/60 should "freeze" most people's motion when milling around, so I want to make sure shutter speed doesn't drop below there.

Av when I want to control DOF for say a stationary portrait, or macro.

P is convenient outdoors with plenty of light so you can adjust shutter speed or aperture as the situation dictates, without worry.

M when shooting indoor basketball or other events where lighting doesn't change.

Never ever AUTO.

Probably Av around 90% of the time. I use Tv when I want a certain effect, like panning or shooting water/rain, and Manual when using flash. Been trying to use manual more, combined with spot metering, it's great to use when you know the lighting won't change.

I have been using Av for 30 years, but a couple of weeks ago I discovered TAv and found it very useful. So lately I have used 50% Av 40% Tav and 10% P or M (I use TAv on my K20, not so much on my K10 yet, as ISO is not so critocal on the K20)

What is the advantage of using TAv mode (I think it is TAv) where you set the aperture and the shutter speed and the camera sets the ISO. It seems to me if you are playing with the ISO in Av mode it would be to get a certain shutter speed.

Just curious if there is something I am missing. If it is just its convenient thats cool
