iso100 k100d?

Does anyone know why the k100d doesnt have an option for iso100? What are the potential minuses of not having iso100?

I have gotten into the habit of reviewing the EXIF info of pictures that strike me as very nice. Most every daylight, still life shot was taken in iso100.

Is it a software thing? Can it be fixed with a reprogram or is it something with the type of sensor.

The native ISO of the Sony sensor used in that camera (and many others, not just Pentax) is 200. Pushing it down to 100 would not increase quality, and in fact would probably degrade it.

The sensor in the K10D has a native ISO of 100, thus it starts there.

They both use amplification to add more "ISO", but they are differrent sensors.

Don't worry about lack of ISO100. It is not noisy.

It's a limitation of Sony sensor which is in that camera.

The same sensor is used also in Nikon D50, D70, Konica-Minolta 5D, 7D. All tohose cameras have ISO200 as a minimum ISO.
