Damn!

I'm truly amazed. I got my K100D Super today, and the image quality with THE KIT LENS is truly amazing. It even surpasses my Canon XTi! I was shooting at incredibly low shutter speeds, and I was still able to turn out some amazing photos...in fact out of 50, only 1 was blurred! Here's a couple of them:

I find it amazing that I'm always amazed by the quality of photos from my Pentax cameras but never from my Canon. Why do I have to love the build of the XTi so much! I could be buying Pentax lenses right now if I didn't love it so much.

Sell the XTi and buy some Pentax lenses. The build quality on my XTi wasn't that good. I grew tired on the plastic body creaking after two months. The Pentax K10d body I had was more solid, as I'm sure your K100D is. I really like the magnesium body of my 30d and have my fingers crossed that Pentax's new body will be magnesium.

One of the things you're seeing is the benefit of in-body Shake Reduction in the K100D.

Congrats, you made a very good investment!

Ah, Frisbee U! I spent a miserable non-student decade in Rohnert Park / Robot Park / Rat Town, in the B-section. The best part of being there was the departure. And my only cam then was an Olympus XA, and I had terrible dealings with Shutterbug Camera there, gripe grumble moan... OK, so it's a nice suburban town with a nice suburban college, set in a very photogenic area at the rural-urban cusp, near mountains, ocean, redwoods, vineyards, San Francisco, etc. If I was still there, my camera would be very busy.

Shake reduction has been a big help for my photography too. Canon kit lenses have never had much of a reputation
