I agree about live view being clumsy, though!

Really? Try some of the others. Some may focus (slowly) but they are much harder to start up....

Some years ago I was out taking photos with my DSLR and standing next to me was someone with a P&S. As I was taking photos this guy asked me if I would turn off my “shutter sound”. He said he did not like that sound and he had turned off the sound on his camera. I told him that I could not turn off the sound. He said what kind of cheap camera did I have? If I had a good camera like his I could turn off the sound.
Too bad you weren't shooting with your *ist.

Yes! Then it would have made even more sound from the film advancing. It was with my *ist DS with the kit lens. For a DSLR that is a small camera. He probably thought it was just a larger P&S kind of camera.

I once met this photographer a few years ago, he shot a lot of orchestra type concerts (NY philharmonic etc., ). he had a custom leather cover made for his Canon 1Ds Mark II to reduce the shutter sound when he did those events. He was setting up at the time and I had the chance to hear it...did quiet it down a bit, but far from being silent.

I sure hope this was a 4-1 joke....otherwise..um...

On the serious side some of these are amusing too.

You may look comical, but the people next to you at the symphony won't lynch you.

Since the 1st of April is almost over even in the far west, it's time for revelation. HappySnap is my alter ego created for this occasion. I'm glad some of you had a laugh and I hope others weren't too annoyed by HappySnap.

Mind that question about shuuter sound is based on a very true post from some other forum.

Have fun

Actually, this information was useful for me. Especially since I plan to take pictures in a Church about three months from now.

Anyone know where I can find a camera muzzle for the K200d?

I win! What's my prize?

Nice one, Mat.

BTW, "HappySnap" is a pretty good handle. Me, I'm more of a "DeeplySeriousYetContentSnap."

Man, no way would I have assumed this was a joke - both of the questions posed are actually reasonably common questions by newbies to DSLR's.
