The thing that I don't like about the K2000 is that it doesn't have a green button. Also, the camera makes it difficult to change settings without taking your eye off the viewfinder.

I must have a bad copy then, because P-TTL results are fine. In fact, K-m + Metz 48 gives better results than Nikon D70 + SB800.

Is this serious?? Proprietary batteries also add weight to the body, I've yet to see any battery with 0g weight...

Haven't noticed anything like that.

Kit lens image quality is good.
Hey Simico

How do you meter manual lenses without the "Green" button?

Av button on K-m works just like green button on K20D with manual lenses (stop down mettering).

EV comp (Av) button when using manual lens = green button.

Does it have adjustment for FF/BF. I have 2 K20 bodies and 6 Pentax lenses. All of the lenses, with one exception, require some degree of adjustment on both bodies. One of the lenses does not require any adjustment on one of the two bodies as it FF by exactly the same amount that that body BF. I won't ever buy a camera that does not allow that adjustment just because I would always wonder if everything was a sharp as it could be.

Only the K20D has AF adjustment. Some older models have "hacked" firmware available that provides an undocumented way of achieving this to a much more limited extent, but neither of the other current models (K200D and K-m) have even "hacked" ways of getting at this.

I went from a k100d to the K-M. Whith the j100d i could never rely on the focusindicator when focusing manually at large apertures. The light turned on and i could turn the focusring a fair amount until it went off again. i never new when i really was in focus whith short DOF. Whith the K-M however its much more exact and i have no problems focusing at f1,8 even at short distances.

Does it stop down the lens also for DOP preview?

Av-Button?

I have a *ist DL2. If I´m using K or M-Lenses:
-switch mode-dial to M
-set on allowing aperture-ring
-Lightmetering at M: set on "Tv-Shift"

Than, you have half-aperture-priority. Press AE-L-Button. The lens stops down and the right time is set automatically.
If you like fully manual, you can use DOF-preview-button, too.

Nonsense. The "amount of loss" is not noticable.
It is "not noticeable" only if you compare it with the K10D or K200D!

If you compare it with any current DSLR of Canon and Nikon, it will make a huge difference!

It seems that the K-m has no con and is just perfect to you. So, why don't you list the pros (only) to the OP?

Rice High,

reading your post, one would have the feeling you are an expert on everything that is Pentax. Unfortunately, you don't own any of the Pentax cameras you're talking about, and you can't get a good knowledge/feel of a camera by holding one ten minutes in a store. If you were honest with yourself, you'd admit you hate Pentax and you could go to any extent to destroy the brand's name. The Pentax kit lens is no worst than the Canon or Nikon kit lens. In some respect, it might even be better. If you really want to help people, you would stop giving advice on things you don't know.

You meant your hatred on me that led to your unfair comments (actually attacks) on me without any support and evidence?
