Secret Buttons on 645D

Don't you love it when they show prototype technology and mask out certain features. It causes you to imagine the wildest features possible! The second image of the 645D has a bit of tape on two buttons between "Raw" and the bracketing button. I'm guessing that one button turns the camera into a phone and the second turns the camera into a "tricorder" allowing full body scans.

what's with the stickers on those couple buttons between the RAW and bracketing buttons... the infamous "National Geographic" button maybe? And I assume the M.Up button is mirror lock up? Pretty cool control layout...

I hope they rip the cover off the ball - another K10D experience. Wouldn't that be sweet?

Why does it say 645 in brackets on the 645 Digitals display? Can it shoot in other formats?

If the targeted price og less than $10.000 is true, it mean we will see a discounted mail order price of $ 6995 not too long after its release. This is brilliant and will put the MF digital market on its head.

The lens have the same type of AF/MF switch as the DA* SDM lenses. This could indicate that the new DA645 lenses uses SDM as well. Or it could be the same type of mechanical switch as used on the FA645 75/2.8; but that solution is due to the fact that this lens is too small to have the usual AF/MF FA645 switch (identical to the FA* K-mount AF/MF switch), something that not seem to be the case of the DA645 55/2.8. So anyway, it seems like Pentax have changed the AF mechanism; I think SDM is most likely. What is ceratin though, is that the 645 don't use SAFOX V anylonger.
Whats more, if these lenses are cropped (645) image circle lenses, it means they will be cheaper than the older 645 lenses giving this camera system an even larger advantage over the competition with their astronomical lens prices (ie. Zeiss et al).

...and then theres those two mystical buttons....

So basically, the 645 Digital is a K20D with more than 31mp (up to 50mp?) in a sensor 3X the size of the APS. It has the same volume and proably same weight as a K20D with battery grip. The lenses are affordable too. A winner....

I think I read it here somewhere but the covered up buttons were for CF and SD. The original mock up had two slots one CF and one SD. However with the advent of SDHC and SDXC the decision was made to go with two SD slots instead. Good because it will free up some space on the overall body design, bad because now they have to make a decision of what to do with those buttons. If it were me I'd loose the two buttons and make it a single button to toggle between the two SD card slots and then cost reduce the crap out of the body to drive up margins. Then again that would just be my thought process.

Rather than toggle between cards, one could be the buffer and one could be the permanent storage. Mind you, I don't see the 645D being used in rapid-fire sports photo mode too often.

I'm having to clean my keyboard again.

645D pure camera pr0n. Having used the 645N in the studio it's just gorgeous. I had the darkroom as well to do the developing and printing.
If the 645D has got 30Mp I think I may put my pride aside and be the first in line.
