I have the same problem in my lens on occasion too. Happens on both the k10 ( when I still had it) and the k20
I sent the lens (same as urs) before. It would not af and same f-- . They changed the board in the lens.
They have a good customer service..so call them. My warranty already expired and the f-- comes out sometimes
I just re mount it and it works. They have a quick turn around too

Thanks for the testimonial. Was too busy today to call but will try to do it tomorrow or Wednesday. Will try to post back here with the result of my inquiry.

I think you're doing fine. When I post from my Android/G1 phone I don't just keep the sentences short, I try to keep the whole post short. Very difficult for me, as I am congenitally prolix. :-)

Just a quick followup. Called Sigma service, got to a nice woman who asked a few good questions, and after determining that I wasn't, you know, putting the lens on backwards, she suggested that I send it in for them to take a look at it. So that's the plan right now. Hope they can fix it as I rather like the lens.
