K20D Beep

Is there anything that stops the K20D Beeping ? Apart from the beep being turned off ? Mine does not beep - the Beep is turned on in the menu system ,,

It won't beep if it doesn't lock focus.

Also if you don't assign the shutter button for half-pressed AF and use the AF button instead, it won't beep even when you're in focus (I have this for Manual Focus setting).
So what I do to get a confirm with beeping noise when doing MF is focus first then hold the AF button until it beep to confirm focus lock.

Forgive me if you've already checked this, but is the beep activated for 'in-focus'?

Looking at my K20 the beep maybe turned on but various beep options can be turned off.

(I personally hate the beep for focus but like it for self-timer and remote so I have the beep options unticked and ticked for my preference)
