They are the original (I) lenses.

I think I'm going treasure hunting tomorrow. Is it worth the drive to Katy Mills? I think I'll hit the Westheimer store and the Missouri City store. I'd love to find an AF540 flash somewhere.
All they had left was a couple of the 200 flashes and two kits.

A K100D and a K110D.

They also had items in small Pentax boxes; cords and stuff.

They also had a 55-300 lens.

There may be a little more, but not the heavy stuff.

Give um a call before you go.

Last I checked, the BG-2 was $57.00 earlier in the week.

I called about a dozen stores and finally found 1 K20D left. It was 40% off and being the last one in sight, I didn't want to chance waiting for it to come down any more. I scored it for $479.00.

Checked a few more stores in Houston area. Missouri City has a K100D Super for $175 now. They also have a Quantray 70-300 zoom for $75 (rebadged Tamron, I think). I also saw some Quantray 70-210 zooms for $64. I couldn't tell if they were autofocus or not. They were pretty old.

The Westheimer store had Pentax batteries for $21 (for the K10D/K20D). I passed. They also had a box full of Remote F's (the wireless remote) for $7 each. I passed on that as well.

I wound up picking up a Samsung P&S for $80 and a bunch of ink and paper for my Epson printer.

$21 for Pentax batteries? Are you kidding me? I just coughed up $41 on EBAY for a new Pentax battery.

I need to go down there. Are they open on Sundays?

Thanks for the info!

Yeah, I think they're open. They had quite a few of them, too. Also, they must have had 50 of the Remote F's.

BTW, the Minolta equivalent battery (NP-410, if I recall correctly) is sometimes available on Amazon for around $10. It's slightly lower capacity, but I've never noticed a difference. Also, being a Minolta product, I consider it a "name" product. I've been pleased with them. That's why I didn't get the Pentax batteries.

Anyway, happy hunting!

Incidentally, at some Ritz stores, the discount is now 40% for cameras and lenses. The Pentax 18-250mm megazoom is still available in some stores like in the Brea Mall, in Brea, CA for $299. It's still there as of today! Other lenses are there as well like the Pentax 18-55mm kit lens for about $65.

Alex
I picked up the 18-250 at Brea mall today. $250. They didn't have much Pentax stuff left

That's a great deal for that lens! Slap that on a $300 K10D or that $175 K100D Super I saw today, and you're set for a lot of shooting/traveling!

You must have gotten the one I described in an earlier post. I too went back to the Brea Mall today, and found that they had a box that was hidden on the shelf and it was a BG-2 battery grip! Cool! It was $43.20! They also had a number of Remote Control F's there for $7.20.

Not a bad day of shopping...

Yes, I went back and scored the BG-2 for $43 as well. They also had a ton of Remote F's. I will wait a few more days on them, as they'll probably go down to $4!

Ouch! I paid $499 for a K10D just over a month ago! I guess it's a good thing I picked up a $175 K100D super to sooth my pain.

Just spent $1400 on my pickup for repairs so I am going to have to wait awile untill next pay day to go bargain shop.

Any word on the close date of these stores or are they gone sell out of inventory first?

Glad I picked up my K100DS!

From the looks at the stock in the stores I've been to yesterday, and how much the percentage has been going down every 2-3 days, I'd say the ones near me won't make it past next weekend. This week seems to be the last for sure. They are down to 80% on lots of things, and don't have much left. When card readers are .93, the end is near. :ugh:
