I do a Dust Alert equivalent with the k10d. I take a picture of a blank sky, infinity focus, f/22, and open the image on the computer. If there are any spots, they will show up then.

Remember that when you use the Pentax cleaning kit, when it says that you should work in a dustless area, you should really work in a dustless area like a washroom, otherwise the sensor will just get dirtier every cleaning, and there's even a chance that you add more dust.
