K100D Super Buffer?

My K100D Super will only fire of 3 frames no matter what the setting(Raw, small jpg, large jpg.)

My K10D does way more. It does vary by setting, but it's very least is still way more.

I even have a Sandisk high speed Ultra II in the K100D.

Is that normal for this camera?

Completely normal. The buffer for the Kx00D series is woefully low.

It can be. You just have to alter how you shoot. You can't "machine gun" like all the Canon and Nikon shooters. You'll need to anticipate and just go for the few money shots. Look around the various Pentax galleries (here, Pentax Photogallery, etc) and you'll see lots of sports shots with the K100D series. The better high ISO performance will also help you.

Of greater importance will be your lenses. If you have some of the newer SDM lenses, your K100D Super can take advantage of that and the faster aperture will help greatly.

For close to $200, it's still a great bargain!

my K100DS will only do 3 in RAW but I get 4 or 5 in large jpg mode, can't say I know why it's different than what you're experiencing.

Yea you are right.

Just so use to my K10D, I got spoiled with all of it's features.

For $200 I should not be complaining too much.

I just need to put my K10D up for a while and really get to know my K100D.

I will do that for mother's day!

Thanks for your input.

I had the shutter button customized to tell me how many shots in the LCD and viewfinder with halfway press and it said 3 on everything I set it to(Raw vs. jpg).

After testing it jpg mode I was able to get almost five like you said.

Thank you!
