I would like to see some photo's of the 2 cameras side by side.

dunno abt any scientific validation...but the one I got to play around with...it did locked the focus accurately on a person walking by at a reasonable rate...under dim condition of an auditorium....
use a FA31mm ltd while playing around and it seemed to be faster than atleast K10D which I used with the same lens combo and at the same place.

Even with an aquarium testing result that says otherwise, I would say there is little difference between the two... one.

Are you serious on this one? My time with the K100D showed it to be awful when it came to AF, much behind my *istD at the time. My K10D is ahead of the *istD by a fair margin and my experience with the K20D is that it is again better. I have to admit that I am shocked you don't see more of a difference.
