Fitting a new focusing screen

Hi,

I'm fitting a split focusing screen to my K200D, after I removed the original focusing screen I noticed a bronze coloured U shaped spacer in the screen tray and for the life of me I do not know if it was fitted above or below the screen, if it must go above then it must act as a spacer for the screen to be at the proper focal point.

Can anyone give me the answer.

Regards
Greg

It is a shim that sits above the screen.

Correct. Mine dropped out after removing the stock screen, too. Just place it on top of the new screen and put them in together (worked for me).

Here is a K200D guide(PDF) showing the screen installation, bracket and shim assembly.
