K100DS and Manual WB

Last night I kept trying to set the WB manually of my K100DS with my Super Tak macro 50mm f/4 and kept getting NG most of the time. I would aim it at a solid white door and focus it.

I even adjsted the Manual WB menu setting, "whole screen and spot", with no results.

Put an AF lens on and adjusting WB manually works just fine?

Any thoughts, suggestions or similar issues?

Im gone test out the same thing on my K10D latter today?

Make sure you have the correct exposure set up. For instance, put it in M (manual) mode, set the aperture to f4 on the Takumar, then press the Av button by the power switch while pointing it at your white door to meter the scene. Then go into the auto WB mode and take the exposure. If it is grossly underexposed, it will give you the "NG" error.
