Re: Predictive AF

Hello John,

Has predictive AF been reworked or had a spruce up? Outside of faster AF speed, I'm more than a little curious as to what to expect.

Thank you,

Nic

John: Is the camera pictbridge enabled/capable? That would be fantastic for travel photographers + the mobile printers

Most certainly it is as every other recent dslr from Pentax has this feature. And a nice feature is the inbuilt raw converter end picture editor. Take your photos in raw or raw+ format and you can edit and adjust your pictures before printing them.

Awesome! Can't wait to use the K-7 with the Pogo Zink printer

No. We only build to support Pentax items. This is the same with focusing screens, lenses, flash, etc. For any third party item, that company basically has to reverse engineer the product to make thier accesory work. This is how all the camera manufacturers work.
Will there be a split image screen from Pentax or some other kind of focusing screen that is suitable for manual focusing?

If not, will the third party screens (Katzeye etc.) for K10D and K20D fit into the K-7?

Very unlikely.

No. Size, brightness and design of the focussing screen have changed. KatzEye will probably support the K-7 once they reverse engineer the K-7's new focussing screen.

3) We are including a rebate coupon with all K-7's shipped in the US...
Does this mean Pentax has a new rebate house in operation? (I'm referring to the notice on the Pentax Imaging web site about the previous rebate house filing bankruptcy.)

Thanks

Long Exposure

If one is to beleive JCPENTAX he should tell the truth about ICNR
It was asked :"Can the dark frame subtraction noise reduction be absolutely turned off? This K20D feature caused me to keep the K10D as backup instead of buying 2nd K20D"
And his reply was YES (Twice)
Well what I would like to know is after buying the K7 for that reason how do you turn it off.
JCPENTAX now is your time to change my mind about you and your input.
Cheers

As far as I know, with regards to TCs, the K-7 will more than likely work the same as the K10D and K20D (how that is, I don't know since I have never used one before on either).

It was no secret that there was a 1.4X converter on older lens roadmaps, but it disappeared in the latest iteration. Japan stated this was removed due to market conditions (i.e. the economy). This means the plans are out there, we just don't know when it will happen.

This is wrong anyway. DFS can be switched off for exposures up to 30 seconds. Not beyond.
