Have I got oil on my sensor?

As the thread title asks. Have I got oil on my sensor?

Dust spots.

Try to clean with a blower first if you have one.

This does tend to shift most things.

well I cant say that its oil, but you certainly have something on your sensor. it doesn't look like its the lens.

I gave the camera 10-15 dust removal cycles and it's still there.

If you haven't got a blower get one. I've got one and an arctic butterfly I use these for cleaning.

I'm going through Chester tomorrow, I've got half an hour between train connections. So if you can be about at 4ish I can run through it with you if you like.

They look very different from the dust I have seen on my sensor...

Why would you have suspected oil? Did something get sprayed around the camera?

I've dug out my Dad's old brush blower (don't worry I took the brush off) and went to town on the sensor. It's improved a bit, so I think it's a trip to get a rocket blower and go nuts in there.

Yes I've changed lenses.

I agree with Gus.
It does not look like the dust my sensor has ever collected.
Dust spots become more visible with smaller apertures (higher f numbers), do you see that as well?
Are your lenses clean?

Thanks for the offer. I was hoping the K20D would mean a lot less sensor cleaning.

That's what I'm doing. The test shooting I'm doing is at f40 defocused on to a white card.

The original images was taken in quite extreme macro at f22.

Edit: Yep, the lens I'm using is nice and clean.

I've just checked my brothers 'Samsung 18-55 mk I' and yes it does.

Igilligan Guest	They do not look like any dust I have seen They look very different from the dust I have seen on my sensor... Why would you have suspected oil? Did something get sprayed around the camera?
