Or he zoomed at the same time? That's one reason I need AF, as I zoom WHILE shooting.
I used an F*300/4.5 lens on those photos

Did some high ISO testing w/ K-7 yesterday after mignight. Nothing interesting at home, and couldn't make too much noise 'cause the whole family were asleep, so I took some photos in the kitchen. K-7 w/ FA31 mounted on tripod, 2 sec mirror up.

K-7 has three level of NR (noise removal) setting, user can choose to disable it, or set it to low, medium or high. User has option to start NR at ISO200, 400, 800 or 1600. Based on my test, there isn't much difference between all these settings at the moment. Probably because it's a beta testing camera, only has firmware of v0.3. The NR software probably hasn't been implemented at all.

Anyway, here are some photos taken w/ NR set OFF, all from RAW (DNG) file converted by ACR (w/ default setting) to JPG, save in quality of 10 , except the ISO6400 ones which were saved at quality of 8 due to the bigger file size (over 5mb if saved above quality of 8, my photobucket account has a file size limite of 5mb).

These were JPG results converted from RAW (DNG) by ACR at default setting, not JPG output directly from the camera I'm sure if you play around w/ those RAW files, you can get even better results.

Wow, Frank. Your ISO 3200 shot looks a lot better than others I've seen, even in the dark areas. The noise isn't as squirrely as in other sample shots by Unlocker and falconeye. I wonder what caused the difference? Are these 100% crops or resized?

Nice preformance from your camera, seems like its a b i g difference between testers. Maby the alpha/beta sensors are miles appart.

Those original ones are 100% crops, untouched except ACR conversion. You can check the file size
