Glad it worked out for you! I've received so much valuable help on this site, it's nice to be able to give back a bit...

And I've had great luck with factory refurbs lately too... I've bought 4 refurbs with no probs. Hope you have good luck with yours!

BB has ALWAYS been way out of line for their prices for Pentax (I have been waiting to use my gift card for a while) and they do not carry any Pentax products in store.

I think I just saved about $1000 over the K-7.
I'll learn the K20 and get the K-7 after I get another $250 reward card.

Thanks again,

Ray

Well done! This sounds like good logic to me. You might find that the K20D does everything you need. Or simply save up and skip a generation to whatever comes beyond the K-7.

There is a certain point below which the K20 won't go (unless you get used). I think the floor is probably around 550 US dollars. Looking at the K10's history, it bottomed around the time the K20 was released and then actually came up in price a little bit. I guess the real question is how much longer Pentax will keep supplying the K20 to dealers. Once they discontinue it, the price will rise.

I suppose that's why I went ahead and got one. It would kill me if I held off and then I couldn't get one for under $800 because of the demand =/

I purchased from Beach Camera. I never had an issue with them before.

I purchased on Sunday. Price was $649.00.

Looks like they have already shipped. I called and they confirmed shipment and gave me tracking which shows the camera on the truck headed for my house.

The price on their site is backup to $699.00. The price is definitely on the rise.

Please do, I am quite interested. Also, what firmware is on it and what does the image count read?

There are lots of sub $650 prices out there for "import models," which I assume to be code for grey market.

Mine just came by UPS, but of course the battery must be charged ...bah.
All I have are 1GB SD cards, Im sure they'll work, but I should probably get some 4GB HDSD.

Buddah,

I couldn't tell my refurb from new if my life depended on it, looks like it just came off the assembly line.

How do I check the shutter actuations?

If you do a search @ Live.com. Beach Camera, through e-bay, has the K20D @ $649 and there is 8% cashback from microsoft.

Sure makes me want to pull the trigget for a K20D. But, I think I'm going to wait and go all out for my first DSLR and get a K-7.

I just got a K20 body for 547 . As of right now it cost me 567, but i'm waiting for another set of rebates to come in (mr.rebates) but the site hasn't shown the activity yet. But at that price, i'm a happy camper, especially since its new, and i'm going to call in pentax when my camera arrives to get the warranty extended.
